Portmagee Whiskey and Portmagee 9 are Premium Blends of Single Grain and Single Malt Irish Whiskeys which are blended, married and finished in individual Barbados Rum Casks to our unique Portmagee Whiskey Design. All Portmagee Whiskeys are non chill filtered with no added colouring. Portmagee Whiskey and Portmagee 9 arebm Barbados Rum Casks. This is in homage to Captain Theobald Magee, the 18th century Wine and Rum Smuggler and adventurer who gave his name to home port, Portmagee.

Portmagee Village
The village is located on the Iveragh peninsula and is the gateway to Valentia Island, The name Portmagee (Port Magee) comes from the exploits of Captain Theobald Magee, a notorious 18th-century smuggler. Having served in the army of King James as an officer, Magee ‘retired’ to a life of merchant shipping between France, Portugal and Ireland.

The Portmagee Whiskey Team
Portmagee Distilling and Brewing Company trading as Portmagee Whiskey, based in the small fishing village of Portmagee on the South Kerry coast was established by Portmagee brothers John and James Murphy. They were joined shortly afterwards by a third friend and business partner, whiskey aficionado Stuart McNamara. Plans to build a micro-distillery and visitor centre in Portmagee village are well advanced. The company is supported by Failte Ireland and is a member of Bord Bia's "Origin Green" program with sustainability plans a key component of their business model and ethos.
